Confidence in the economy is returning and so too are property investors. Our lovely clients Jay and Dorothy are an excellent example of savvy investors making the most of their finances and investing in residential property.
The couple were eager to build up their property portfolio and found the ideal four-bedroom family home outside Brisbane.
With the help of our Home Loan Specialist Julie Rashleigh, the couple were able to purchase an investment property. They worked with Julie on a pre-approval first for a slightly higher amount and were thrilled when their loan application was accepted.
Julie found the right residential investment loan product offering a very low fixed rate interest for three years. Drawing on the equity in their existing property, the couple were great candidates for an investment loan. The fact that the property was leased, and the tenants were happy to stay on was another bonus as rental income was guaranteed as well.
Long term, the couple can take advantage of negative gearing to offset rental income claiming costs associated with the maintenance and management of the property, plus tax depreciation on purchases of new assets or capital works.
In this case, buying in popular residential areas with high rental demand was a good investment strategy for our clients.
